Master Bedroom Re-Do

It had been almost 4 years ago that we moved into our house. Our (my parents) bedroom was the only room we hadn't touched yet - it was time for a change.  Evidently it's the one room I didn't take a picture of when we moved in, probably because it was nothing special.

After cruising through Pinterest I found some inspiration.  Then it was time to convince Dustin that he needed to do this project for me :)  After 4 hours in Menards, two tired Kiddos and much more money spent that I thought we would need :( we headed home and got started.  It turned out SOOO much better than I thought it would.  I'm so happy with and and love waking up in my bright, sunny bedroom!

My Baby furniture!  Dad painted it an off white color with a little bit of pearl in it.  I put new hardware on it and dustin replaced the drawer glides.  They are like new and I LOVE them :)  Dustin also built a surround for the TV and mounted it to the wall to get it up off of the dresser.

My changing table.  And my mirror project!  Dustin HATES my coral mirror but I think its one of my favorite things in this room.

My beautiful headboard!  I got the old door at the Antique Shoppe here in town and Dustin built the whole headboard and frame.  We decided to go a head and go with a king sized bed this time.  And he wired up mason jar reading lights on each side complete with the vintage looking edison bulbs.  We each have our own switch with a dimmer.... awesome.
Of course Boo was sitting so pretty on my bed this turned into a little Boo photo shoot.

I just love this little guy.

Asher is Four

Asher,
You're four?  How is it possible that you're that big already?  Am I really old enough to have a four year old?!?!  You are one of the funniest little people I know.  You crack me up everyday and you can go from the sweetest thing to my last nerve very quickly.  Luckily you know how to get back in my good graces in no time :)  Like yesterday.  I was stressing out because we have your party today and I was trying to clean and work on some photos and your brother was fussy and I was trying not to have a meltdown.  I just plopped down on the steps and you came right up to me and gave me the biggest hug.  I just about cried.  I love you Chester.
Right now you are really into dirt bikes, 4 wheelers and monster trucks.  You don't eat enough to keep a bird alive but drink GALLONS of milk.  I think you loved school and learned so much this past year.  You've done a great job playing with your brother lately - even sharing once in a while :)
You are one smart little boy and don't miss a thing.  I can't wait to see what you grow up to be.

Love You Forever,
Mommy

Asher's 1st Year of School

We are officially on Summer Break!  Asher did AWESOME in his first year of Pre-K - especially considering he was the youngest in his class by quite a bit!  We are very excited that he'll have the same teacher next year :)  Here his before and after pictures from his first and last day of school!  I can't believe how much of a baby he was!

He did NOT want to have his picture taken.  He said the other kids would see him and make fun of him.  He is SOOOO super sensitive.
 He pouted.
And I kind of felt sorry for him.  He is just so stinkin cute.
So I decided to bribe him to smile instead.
But he still threw a fit.  The more I laughed the more he screamed.  Bet the neighbors were getting a kick out of us.
Once the bus rolled up his driver told him lots of Mama's had taken pictures that morning.
So then he was all smiles showing me how he buckled his car seat first.

I'm so proud of how much he has learned his year!  I went back through his progress reports from the beginning of the year that he brought home and it showed how high he could count, how many letters/numbers he recognized and I just can't believe how far he has come for how little he is!  I'm SO glad I decided to send him to school :)

Phone Dump

Adler's first swim in Meme and Papa's pool!
Adler's very last bottle. **tears**. The morning of his first birthday. The breast milk ran out ON his Birthday. How perfect.
I've never seen anything so sad in my life. We went through 1,200+ ounces of breast milk in about 5 weeks. This was the last lonely little guy in the freezer.
LOVE my new big beautiful standouts!  Thanks Sara Maurer!
A little IBC Rootbeer for the party.
The two cutest boys I know!  Asher wanted to teach him how to walk!
I love matching outfits.
Almost as much as I love BooBoo.
My beautiful bedroom!  This deserves a post of its own...
Taking those first steps.
My goodness. Just look at him.
He cracks my shit up daily.  Helmet, riding gloves, no shirt and flip flops.
They keep me busy!
And my house messy
My little Brantley in the making!

Adler's 12 Month Stats

Herman has had quite a week!!! Tuesday we had a follow-up visit with our cardiologist Dr Bash. Adler had a repeat echo and we had great news! Although he didn't grow out of his murmur like we had first hoped the good news is that his pulmonic stenosis is growing WITH him, which Dr Bash says is great. Other than that he said he looks good and he didn't see a need to see him for another 2 years!

On Tuesday we had our 12 month check-up with Dr Wenger. I wasn't shocked to see that Adler was only 1/2" taller and 2 oz less than Asher was at this age. My boys seem to be right on track with each other.

Weight: 22 lbs 4 oz. (60%)
Height: 31 inches. (90%)

While we were there I asked her about the bone sticking out of his chest. About 4-6 weeks ago Adler got done eating and he was filthy so I took his shirt off while he was in his high chair to try to clean him up and immediately noticed that something looked funny on his chest. When I felt it it seemed like he had a bone sticking out of his chest where his sternum was. I called my mom and showed it to Dustin but no one knew what it was. At that time we had just started with a new doctor and I had been there like a million times that first week so I didn't wanna call her yet again screaming that now Adler had a bone protruding from his chest.....

So she felt it yesterday and wasn't sure what it was. We decided to go ahead and have it X-rayed so that I felt better and she would know what it was. So that's what we did today. Poor kid has had 3 appointments in the last 3 days! I'm very curious to see what's going on with my lil man.
