Take it Outside

Saturday morning we boarded the train in Pontiac for our little adventure to the big city.  Thank God Addie met us at Union Station because I'm not sure me, The Sister and Josh would have made it out and to where we were going on our own.  Addie took charge and got us a cab and to the Condo of Nicole's cousins where we would be staying.  We were thrilled to be 1 block off of Michigan Ave and right on the lake.  The condo was awesome.

See all those great windows?  They were also great for people watching.
Kind of creepy isn't it?

Jeff had a running commentary about what he thought was going on in these people's lives.
And he even serenaded them.
Yep, almost dark and still checking out what was going on across the street.
Finally it was time to head out to Joe's Bar.
I told The Sister she needed a cami under her shirt.
She didn't listen.
I think it had something to do with the fact that she was sippin on a little moonshine.
Addie was my date for the night.
I think she ended up having a blast :)
Some of Jeff and Nicole's friends came up and they hung out for a while before they made their way over.
But of course we were gonna get there early cuz there was no way we were missing this...
Yes, we were that close.
Not just 4 rows from Brantley but 1/4" from the person in front of us, behind us and to the left and right.
You couldn't move at all.
Then there was the drunk girl behind Addie that kept chewing her out for "invading her space."  Ummmm she should have looked around - I was literally eating the girls hair in front of me it was that tight.  Towards the end some girl was trying to get out and I asked her which way she was going she said "it really doesn't matter.  I'm going home.  You people are freakin crazy."
Sadly, she's right.

It made my night when we went to leave and the bitchy girl was sprawled on the curb while the rest of the group tried to get a cab.  After she hit me in the head about 15 times and kneed me in the butt a couple of more I didn't feel the least bit sorry for her.

Oh, and someone spit a wad of chew from a few rows behind.  I got it all over my back and it was in Addie's hair.  Yummy.

So we finally get back to the condo and Jeff and Nicole had already gone to bed.  They said they would leave the door unlocked.  Only, the door man wouldn't let us up.  We sat there for about 10 minutes while he made a few phone calls.  Then one of the door men pulled up out front in his sweats and said "oh yeah, I saw them earlier."  Then he had to escort us up to the condo.  I was gonna be pissed if I had to sleep in the lobby.  Overall it was an awesome night!

Its been a very good week

And its about to get better!

Not only have I got to eat at The Bayern Stube twice this week (once for my friend Nancy's birthday on Saturday and then again last night for Mom's birthday) but the third and final (for this year!) Brantley Concert is tomorrow night. OMG.  I'm riding the train to Chicago tomorrow - for the first time ever.  How did my parents let me get to be 25 years old and never ride a train?!?!  PS - We're taking Asher up on the train in about 2 weeks - he is beyond excited.

My Uncle Bob is at my house today painting Asher's new room!  I'm so excited to get it put together because I've been collecting a few things here and there for a couple of weeks now.  The best part?  I've been able to buy much of it with my photography income - woohoo!  And every night when its time for bed Asher tells me he wants to sleep in his new bed :)

Today is Mom's birthday so we're having dinner there tonight.  Then tomorrow morning its off to Chicago with Taylor and Josh.  From there we'll meet up with my cousin Addie and Nicole Bulthuis and Jeff Hamilton for another awesome Brantley Experience.  I think being stone sober at a BG concert is going to be a whole new experience for me.  I won't be able to use the alcohol as a cover my screaming and singing all night.

Happy Friday!

YeeeeeeeeeeeHawwwwwwwww!

This is for you Addie!  Here is a conversation my cousin and I had recently on Facebook.  She is going to a Brantley concert with me next weekend!  A couple of months ago I sent her City-Ass home with 2 Brantley CD's and told her to listen up and know all the freakin words by the time of the concert cuz I wanted her singing right along with me.....

So these are for you Ad, I want you to know what you're getting yourself into...

Don't worry Addie.  You won't have to square dance with us :)

Country Must Be Country Wide

I had been patiently not so patiently waiting for this day all summer.
Brantley was back in Champaign!
This required a new outfit and pedicures that morning with The Sister.

Asher spent the night with Meme & Papa.  When we left home of course he had to wear his boots too!

Dustin's cousin John and his wife Brenda joined us for yet another Brantley concert!  I'm so glad they came.  But this time Brenda brought along little Axel who is just 17 weeks away from making his arrival.  I'm so glad that "Auntie Tess" was able to take him to his first concert.  And Mama was a trooper because it was insanely hot and there was NO breeze in the Grand Stands.

BG February 2011
The Sister brought along Erin Petersen to be her date since Josh had a Bachelor Party this weekend.
WooHoo!  The heat, nor the smell of BO or the lack of alcohol could keep us from enjoying ourselves!
And when I say it heat I mean heat!  Poor little guy!
But nothin was as hott as Brantley!
For a crowd who looked like they were going to fall asleep during the 2 opening acts
We sure came alive when BG took the stage!
No concert post would be complete without the boot pic :)

I saw the girl with this sign in line.  She looked like she was going to give birth next to the tilt-a-whirl.  The other side of that sign?  It said "Brantley, Meet Brantley!"  She was even naming the baby after him!

More To Come

This is where I was Saturday night.

BG Nation

I'm a freak, I know.
I am a member of the BG Nation and proud of it.  I think Brantley has the most loyal fans I've ever seen.  Just by following him and the fanpage (told you I was a freak) on Facebook you would not believe the love and praise and total devotion that his fans have.  They are totally defensive of him - but I guess I'm the same way.  On the eve of purchasing tickets to my 3rd Brantley Gilbert show this year I thought I would post a couple of videos so you can see just what I'm talking about!  His voice is a little hoarse in these but you'll get the idea.

This guy puts on one hell of a show, you can read here about my first Brantley concert.  Honestly every person there was as big of a fan as I was.  I am so looking forward to seeing him on the 23rd and now again on November 5th!!!
This is my "get pumped up for work" or "its Friday night!" song on the way to and from work!

This is my "screw you Jason Aldean" song!  In case you didn't know Brantley wrote both My Kinda Party and Dirt Road Anthem... Jason Aldean only sings them

Speaking of Jason, Brantley does it better!

Kick It In The Sticks

I got to go to the concert Thursday night and boy did I have fun!  I can't tell you the last time I got home at 3:00 A.M. - if ever.  Dustin's cousin John and his wife Brenda went with us.  I'm so glad they are the type of people who are up for anything!  I emailed Brenda at 3:00 that afternoon and asked her if they wanted to go to a Brantley Gilbert concert that night.  She emailed me back and said " Sure!  Who is he?"  Gotta love her!

Doors opened at 7 and we got there about that time.  We were shocked so see that the line was all the way down the street.  So we waited a good half hour in the freezing cold behind some 18 year olds in tank tops.  They were all like "OHMIGOD ITS SOOOOOOOO COLD!"  No shit, its February, wear a coat.  I was totally feeling my age that night because it seemed like every 18 year old in Champaign showed up that night.
The 3 hours we waited for Brantley was well worth it!
Even the guys were having a good time!
3 Hours + 3 Coors Lights + Brantley Gilbert = One Drunk Happy Mama!
The closest I will pry ever come to a "Mosh Pit" - I even saw a girl get taken down by a woman security guard, it was crazy!
We'll do a little frog giggin - cow tippin
How 'bout a little skinny dippin - bass fishin
Take it easy on the shine - stay away from other boys women
That’s one damn good way for a man to get it wooped downBrenda and I were down in the crowd having ourselves a good time while the boys were the only 2 people up in the balcony - but they were serving a purpose: watching Brenda's purse!
This picture pretty much sums the night up for me.  I had a BLAST, although I was really missing the Sister and Josh.  I took a couple of videos but I haven't had a chance to upload those yet.  As you can tell in this picture I couldn't really see a damn thing - sucks being short.
I love this picture - John is usually the quiet one but you can tell he was having a good time!
At this point someone needed to take me home - or at least take the camera away from me.

After we left The Canopy Club we were starving since no one had dinner - so we went to Steak N Shake for burgers and some entertaining conversation.  We really need to try to go out with these two more often because we had a lot of fun!
