Car Show Weekend

Saturday was the Wabash Festival in Forrest so that morning Taylor, RJ and I all took our cars over for the car show that my Dad puts on.  They had a few vendors set up along main street and the little train was running for the kids all day.

Dustin took Asher for a ride on the little train and he loved it!  I helped sand this down when I was in high school and Dad painted it.

On Sunday we went to Clinton for another car show and the Pork & Apple Festival.  Asher was such a good boy even though the weather wasn't the greatest.  He loved dancing to the music at the car show and being pushed around at the festival.

 Yeah, its got a 454.

Hmmmm I wonder if Dr Kevin would mind if I took a ride in his Vette?
Silly Faces

Cooler than Uncle RJ in the Grand National

Cullen did a great job pushing the stroller for me, put Asher right to sleep!

We ate at Ted's Garage which was right next to Baum Chevrolet where the car show was.  That place is awesome if you ever get the chance to go eat there.  We really need to take a cruise there some Sunday in the Chevelle for lunch.

Ah yes, the results.  Taylor won, RJ won, Kevin Brucker won.  This Mama?  Nothin.  Dad tried telling me I should have won and this and that.  But at this point it really doesn't matter.  I need to spend my money on diapers and things like that instead of a new set of wheels for my car.

When Taylor wins its not a big deal, but RJ won his first trophy and he kept flipping me off the whole.way.home.  And asking me - Where is yoouuuuuuuur trophy?  And Where is yourrrrrrrrrrrr duffle bag?  Little jerk.

But we stopped and ate dinner at the Bayern Stube in Gibson on the way home so that made it all better!

Homecoming Parade

Yes, I realize that I'm a little bit behind but here are the pictures from Homecoming Weekend (17th -18th).  On Friday Asher got to ride on Dad's firetruck in the Homecoming Parade.  Chad held him while Ethan rode in the back.  Dad said he was loving running the siren until he saw all of the people then he was a little freaked out.

And yes, thats my Little Brother.  Riding with the golfers I would guess?!?!
Saturday night was Homecoming.  Here is RJ and his date Ashley Mueller from Gridley.
What a stud.

That afternoon I did Katelynn's hair.  We went over to take pictures before her and Cam left.  Asher gave her kisses - so cute!

On a side note, I believe I had the Homecoming King in my pre-school Sunday School Class.  Does that make me old?

Labor Day

On Labor Day Dustin went golfing while Mom, Annie, Asher & I ran down to Bloomington to get him some more fall clothes.  Then in the afternoon we went to Ray and Sue's for a cook out.
Is he not the cutest lil guy ever?

And no more good pictures of these two

Hmmm whatcha got in there?
Do you think this is what they'll look like in 80 years?
Me & Jodi with our babies!  Please don't mind Asher's hair, his Dad got him ready.

Labor Day Weekend - Sunday

On Sunday we headed out to the farm for the day.  Asher LOVED riding the 4-Wheeler with Papa, even though Mama wasn't crazy about him being on something so big.
He sat in his Toy Story bag chair with his sippy cup like the big boys.
And hung out around the camp fire.
Then came the funny faces!
Here is a video of Kolby, my 10 yr old cousin, driving Chad's hornet around the track.  If you can't see him its cuz he's too short to see over the steering wheel.  I don't have sound on my computer so I don't know if you can tell how loud this thing is but I'm sure the neighbors love us :)

My Big Boy

Asher went to the Dr yesterday for his 15 Month check up and shots.  And boy has he grown!  Grandma Jane kept telling me she thought he was a lot taller but I didn't think he had shot up that much in such a short time.  Here are his stats and below are the ones from his 12 Month appt 3 months ago.

Height: 33 inches (over 95%)
Weight: 25 lbs 4 oz (50-75%)

12 Months
Height: 30.5 inches
Weight: 22 lbs 6 oz

And my Little Boy finally started saying Mama, except now every time he says it he looks at me like I should clap and cheer and jump up and down like I did the first 20 times he said it.  It got old really fast.

And by the way.  I still have pictures from Sunday and Monday of Labor Day but I'm busy so hopefully I'll get to it soon!

Saturday

On Saturday Mom & Dad had a little Labor Day get together at their house.  Asher was beyond excited to have Madie & Brynlee there to play with.  Usually at Grandma's he plays with us but to have other kids there was sooooo much fun!
Bubbles!
The kids played together really good except when Asher got a little too excited with the golf clubs and those were taken away.  We'll have to have the girls come back again soon :)

Friday Night - Races

I've decided to break down our weekend by days so here it goes...

Friday night Dustin wanted to take Asher to the races for the first time.  It was cold and it was windy.  Asher and I were home before 8:00, enough said.

Standing on top of Uncle Poopsie's camper watching the race.  This lasted about 1 minute because it was so windy and the dirt was blowing in his face.

But he did enjoy playing with Ernie back at Ray & Sue's camper.

15 Months

I guess I haven't posted an update on Asher in a while now.  He is 15 months today!!!  He really has changed a lot since his birthday.  He is talking more everyday and cracks me up all the time - he is so freaking smart.  But then again, he is my kid :)  He goes to the Dr on the 13th so I'll have updated stats then but I think he's hovering right around 24 lbs.  He is running all over the place and climbing on everything.  He has really expanded his vocabulary in the last couple of weeks.  Some of the things he says most often:
  • Papa
  • Boo
  • Golfcart
  • More
  • HiYa (especially in the grocery store & to our waitress at Bernardi's)
  • ByeBye
  • All Done
  • Ball
  • Aucky
  • Bath
  • Car
OK so I can't think of anything else right now.  He still will not call anyone by name, me included, except my Dad & Boo.  First thing every morning he sits up in bed and puts both hands up and says "Boo?"  Of course Boo is right there!  He LOVES to eat and I can't think of a single thing that he hasn't liked.  He gave up his bottle right when he turned 1 and his Binky will be gone before 18 months!  I'll leave you with a picture of the little Sheriff before I had to wake him up this morning!
