Laundry Basket

My Little Munchkin has been very "busy" lately. Last night I was trying to fold a load of laundry and he kept unfolding it as I went. Then I gave him the basket to play with and took him for a ride. I wasn't long before I was worn out so I told Dustin it was his turn to drag him through the house. Dustin was a little too rammy for my taste but Asher seemed to be having fun. I got the camera out and Dustin quit making the vroom vroom noises and Asher quit laughing. Go figure.

GMama made German Chocolate Cake for dessert tonight so Asher got to practice for his birthday which is coming up verrrry soon!  We have Charlee's 1st Birthday party this weekend so it'll be lots of fun to celebrate with her!

Cutest Kid - Round 3!

Asher made it to Round 3 with the help of your votes! Here is the information again to see if we can push him through to the next round which I believe ends May 4th. In case you were wondering where all this "donation" money was going here is what the Pantagraph site says:

Help literacy: By voting you are helping local school children. Proceeds from the voting go to the Pantagraph's Newspaper in Education (NIE) program which provides local classrooms with the most up-to-date textbook available:Â The Pantagraph. While you're having fun voting, know that your donations for your votes are helping further the education of a local student.

So you can go here to view the photos of the Round 3 kids (Asher is #74) then go to this link to vote!

Speed Racer

It was a pretty uneventful weekend so not too many pictures to post. Friday night we had VFW fish fry at Mom and Dad's. Saturday Boo had a Vet appt bright and early and I am proud to report that no one was bleeding when we left this time! Yay for BooBoo!!! Then I made a flying trip to Bloomington by myself for a shower gift for next weekend. Yes, you heard me right. I ran to Bloomington by myself which was really weird. Asher wen't down for a nap at Mom and Dad's so she told me just to run down by myself quick. On Sunday Mom and I ran over to Pontiac to pick up a few groceries and that was about it. I did snap a couple of pictures last night. And I got a video of him pushing his walker. He loves this thing, especially to go up and down the hallway.

Dustin's Trip to Costa Rica

Dustin was glad to be home Saturday from Costa Rica.  He did get some pictures that I thought I would post and try my best to describe.

  Luxury vacation destination
(toddler beds?)
Security 1: Scrappy the Chihuahua
 Security 2: Razor Wire
 Pot Hole

OK, so there were a couple of nice pictures.  This was taken the last day they were there at a river they took a boat tour on.

Side note: The boys made it back just in time!  Josh's Mom's labor was starting as the plane was landing and baby Emily Marie Dehm was born early Sunday morning.  Congrats Big Brother Josh!

The Grand Tour

I realized this weekend that we've lived in Fairbury for a few months now and I've never gotten around to posting pictures of the house.  I've posted pictures of the kitchen and livingroom so I took some of the rest of the house this weekend.

Here are the pictures of Asher's room.  If you saw the pictures of his room at our house in Forrest - it looks exactly the same!  I even painted it the exact same color.  I don't know how well you can see the crib rail covers in this picture but Milissa had told me about them and I ordered them from here right away!  Ashlyn had chewed her rails all up and ruined her crib.
Our room.  For my family this looks the same as when Mom and Dad lived here.  Same bed.  Same dresser.  Same curtains.  Sad, I know.

Here is my bathroom, so hard to get a picture of a small room.  The only thing I really did was take down the border and replace the vanity top.  Oh yeah, and I put the birdie up.  One.leaf.at.a.time.

The dining room because I can't remember if I posted this one last time or not.  I love the hutch that Grandma Jane refinished it was Grandma Glo's and goes great with my table and chairs.

Moving on to the downstairs.  My new family room!  Goodbye ugly yellow paint.  It does look a little plain being so taupe but at least it looks like it goes together now.

Here is Taylor's room err I mean the "guest" room.  Thats the problem with living in my parent's house.  I still call most of the rooms by the "old" names.

And finally Dustin's bathroom.  I didn't get a chance to get the towel bar up but Dustin said that was just fine because I pry wouldn't have done it right anyway.  I still need to find a few things for this room because it is SOOO black and white.

The only rooms I didn't get a picture of were Asher's bathroom, but I plan on re-doing that now before his Birthday party and the other bedroom upstairs.  The other bedroom just has our computer desk in it right now.  And a tub of kitchen stuff that I started unpacking in December.  Ugh.

Oh wait...one more bedroom...I can't believe I'm gonna let you guys see this but here it goes...DUN DUN DUN

The toy room.  Formerly known as RJ's room.  So yeah, this is where everything went that didn't have a place when we unpacked in December.   I had great intentions of unpacking a couple of boxes each week and having it all cleaned out in no time.  The only problem with this house vs our house in Forrest is we don't have a storage area.  I guess we could haul all the crap to Mom and Dad's and put it in their basement. hehe  I do however, need to get this done sooner than later because Bubby's 1st Birthday is fast approaching and I can just imagine the amount of toys he'll be getting that we'll need a place to put.

Maybe next week I'll have a post for outside after Bob gets done working on the Fence!

Weekend Recap

Awww such a nice boy and a big help to Uncle RJ when he took apart all Daddy's electronic "stuff" in preparation for painting the family room.  While Dustin was in Costa Rica last week I had Uncle Bob come and paint the family room and Dad's Dustin's bathroom as a surprise for Dustin.  Those are a couple of the last rooms to be re-done in the house.  So RJ came over to help me take apart the surround system and move some furniture before Bob came in the morning. (Side note: remember this ugly yellow wall color when you see the after pictures later!)
A couple of weeks ago Scott Small gave us this little bike cart thingy and yesterday was the first time Dustin had a chance to get it out.  He took Asher for a ride and he LOVED it!  And Mommy loves the 50 point harness in it :)

And here is Asher's new recliner that I just couldn't resist picking up on Saturday (even though I had to ride home with it on my lap cuz there was no room in the truck)  He loves to sit in it and stand on it and jump - just don't recline it, he hates that.

Bathtime (Not So) Fun

Tonight after dinner Asher needed a bath once again but instead of giving him one in Mom's big kitchen sink Auntie Taylor wanted to give him a bath in the big tub.  As you can see he wasn't too thirlled.

Another small fit then he tried standing up and he was happy.  I've had a lot of trouble with him trying to stand in the tub lately.  It was OK to do it once but I don't think we will be taking a bath without Ducky anytime soon!

Bush Hog Ride

Tonight Papa took Asher & Mommy for a Bush Hog ride before supper.  Little Man wasn't too sure what to think and spent the whole time looking around.

And this one just because.  Makes me miss the bottle feeding days!

Planting Season?

This would be Mom and Dad's front yard.

And this would be the back.
Are you thinking the same thing I was thinking?  WTH?  Or maybe that they were going to be planting beans in the front and corn in the back?  Well I guess not but it sure looks like it at this point.  I guess the yard wasn't "level" enough so the landscaper did away with all of the grass and started over.  Looks like a big mess to me.
When I got there after work last night Chris and his dad were pouring one of the patios out back.

Round 2

As if there was any doubt... Bubby made it to the second round of the Pantagraph's Cutest Kid contest. So you know what that means. Time for friends and family to open their wallets and vote once again. You can go here to view the photos of the kids who made it to round 2 then go to this link to vote.  Asher is #74, once again not the best crop-job in the paper.  But we all know he's the cutest kid!

Weekend Recap

Doesn't Little Man look pretty with a bow in his hair? Thats what he gets for ripping it out of Charlee's hair the other day!
Friday night Asher & I went down to Pekin to stay the night at Ryan and Milissa's. Asher LOVED Zelma. He even fed her while he had dinner. He didn't let go of the food in his hand though and Zelma had his whole hand in her mouth. Good thing Mama trusts this doggie!
Playing in the cabinets Saturday morning. Nice bed-head Ashlyn!

We went for a walk that morning too. Ashlyn looked so cute in her little car.

Asher wondering why his puppy doesn't let him get this close.
Stopping for a drink on Ryan's nice green grass.

On Sunday me, Asher, Mom, Kristen and Annie met Taylor in Champaign for some shopping. Auntie Taylor took Asher for a ride on the Merry-Go-Round in the mall. His little Glo lip came out when it was time to get off.
