What is it about him being on the move that makes me feel like there are like 3 of him now?!?! He wears me out!
Our first big boy dinner! Asher had pasta with us last night and did a good job feeding himself.
This would be Dustin's idea of watching Asher. More like his idea of being able to watch the TV instead.
Ta-Da! The elusive standing video! Dustin yelled at me last night to get the camera out. Asher was in a great mood and probably could have stood much longer if he would have calmed down a little bit =)

Theres my happy boy!  Auntie Taylor snapped this one on the way to Peoria to meet Milissa for a day of shopping.  Saturday they worked on "high five."  See video below!  Asher was a good boy shopping although he made quite a mess at lunch.  I'm sure someone appreciated cleaning up all the puffs he scattered on the floor.

Mmmm speaking of Puffs.  We even stooped as low as a little bribery to teach Asher some new tricks.  We used this same method with Boo.

Here is a picture when I just missed him standing up yet again.  It took me a moment to realize he wasn't hanging on to anything.  By the time I got the camera out he was back down again.  Sometime I'll catch him.  But he seems to be making a lot of progess in the last couple of weeks.

Goin for a ride with Auntie Taylor.  The video I got of him walking didn't turn out very well so I'll get a better one hopefully this week.  He does really good walking with this thing and he likes to get on and have you push him around too.
I love this video!  It honestly reminds me of the way Boo cycles through his tricks to get a treat.  He loves his rocking chair from Uncle Rollo too, although I'm afraid he's gonna rock right out of it.

My Little Puff Monster

My little Man went from not being able to eat anything solid to being a Puff addict in a matter of a week!  He was sitting in his highchair last night when I was putting the groceries away and he saw me put the Puffs away and started screaming and reaching for them.  He ate half a can last night after he had dinner.  Good thing Mom said they have Puffs at Sams, we're gonna need to economy pack.
I always love the pictures of Ashlyn with her bed head so I figured I'd let her know she isn't alone.  My picture was really dark and it was hard to tell so I had to use some effects so you could see his hair.

And here is the much over-due crawling video.  Asher has been crawling for a month now but I just now got around to getting a video.  He is all over the place and pulls himself up to everything.  He stood up by himself last night too!  I couldn't believe it!  He just stood up, looked at us and smiled and then sat back down.  Of course when I got the camera out he wouldn't do it again.  We also got another tooth yesterday, on top.  I think it won't be long before another top one emerges also.  Auntie Taylor also taught him to wave byebye while she was on Spring Break.  I swear she gets more done in a few hours than I do in a week when it comes to teaching him stuff.  I guess thats why she is going to school to be a teacher and I have no patience.

RJ's "New" Ride

A couple of weeks ago Dad decided that he didn't want to give RJ his orange truck when he turned 16 anymore.  I can't say that I really blame him.  Dad didn't really have anything to replace it at the time and didn't like the thought of it parked at the school every day.
So then began the search for something different for RJ to drive on a daily basis.  If you know Dad you pretty much know RJ didn't have much say in what he got.  But he seems pretty excited about his new ride.  He even took me down to the end of the circle and back last night.  I really didn't wanna be seen around town in it to tell you the truth.  She's a little rough but maybe after some TLC and a new paint job it'll look better.  RJ will still have his Chevelle whenever that gets done.  IF him and Dad don't kill eachother over who has creative control.
What a sexy beast in his 1985 Buick Grand National

Kane's Big Day

On Saturday we went to Bob and Kristi's for Kane's 1st Birthday Party!  There were lots of babies everywhere so Asher got to play with all the kids.  Here is Asher playing with Sydney (1 yr).
This is one of my favorites!  Kristin Tuley catching her little boy Camden (2) with the drum stick.

Its a sea of babies!  I was so happy to see so many blog babies at the party!  Clockwise starting with Asher (9.5 mos) Kane (1 yr), Camden Tuley (2), Sydney Brown (1 yr), Caden Elliott (8 mos) and Ashlyn (20 mos).  I was sad to have missed getting a picture of Farrah (10 mos) while she was there because she is only 2 weeks older than Asher.  I follow all these blogs so its fun to see the babies in person.  Be sure to click on the links to see each babies blog.

Little Miss Ashlyn also had some very exciting news to share this weekend!  She is going to be a BIG SISTER in October 2010!!!  We can't wait to have another little one and he or she will be here in time to have another baby at Christmas.

The Main Event! Kane enjoyed his big cupcake that Grandma Kristi made him when he woke up from his nap.  He wasn't too enthusiastic but it saved Grandpa Bob from having to clean up the garage.

The kids loved Kane's new tractor!  I love the picture below where Ashlyn was giving him a "push."  Milissa put Asher on it and he knew exactly what to do!  The kid can't help but be a gear-head, he gets it honestly.  I love this video!

We ended the night with some bubbles which Asher LOVED!  I had to get some for his Easter basket.
It was a good night but this Mama was tired after having the flu all week so Asher and I went home and went to bed.  Dustin went out with Mom and Dad and all the "cousins" since Addie came home for the night.  I'm feeling much better this week.  Dustin, however, is at home today dying of the flu.  I told him I survived last week so he'd make it.

Trip to Naperville

On Sunday Asher, Taylor, Mom, Grandma Jane, Annie and I went up to Naperville to see Addie.  This was Ashers first big shopping trip and first time seeing the big city.  Mommy even drove to Naperville herself!  Except for one curb-check we got there just fine!  We got to see how the other half lives in Addie's "ritzy" neighborhood.  Did you know Oprah looked at a house just a couple of blocks from her?  Anyway we went to an outlet mall in Aurora and it turned out to be a pretty good day.  Asher was perfect even though he did get a little tired of riding in his stroller.  Don't worry there were plenty of ladies who didn't mind carrying him.
Once we got to the hotel we all had to have our pictures taken with Little Man.   Here he is with Addie, Mommy and giving kisses to Auntie Taylor.
After a day of shopping we had dinner at Hugo Frogs.  Asher was a very good boy!  Addie fed him his puffs and he would throw his toys on the ground and she would pick them up!  Mom and Addie were very disappointed they didn't have the stuff to make pomegrante martinis (the only reason we went there).

Asher "hopping" on Mommy's lap @ Hugo Frog's
We wound the day down with Asher getting a dish of DQ ice cream to enjoy before bed.  As you can see from the smile on his face its his favorite.  We stopped in Joliet on the way home and shopped some more.  He was one tired little boy when we finally got home yesterday!

Pantagraph's Cutest Kid Contest

Asher is in the Pantagraph's Cutest Kid Contest which came out in today's paper. You can view the photos of the kids here, Asher is #74.  Then you can go to this link to vote.  Yes, I know its a minimum donation of $5.00 to vote.  I was a little disappointed with how his picture turned out.  The way they cropped it didn't turn out so well so here is the one that I submitted.  Still my all time favoite picture of the Bubby!

Mr Talkative

Check out my new Zombie Food hat! Too bad Mom didn't buy it until winter was almost over! Oh well, I look pretty cute in it!

Asher has been Mr Talkative lately. He likes to stand up at the end of the chaise and talk to me. He will stand there for 30-45 minutes before his little legs finally get tired.

Something I hope he picks up...

Yes, that is Dustin vacuuming the entryway while Asher watched from the gate.  It was too funny the way he was just staring at him.  I think its great for him to see his Dad doing something so "domestic"!

Asher continues to give us a run for our money the way he gets around.  I  went downstairs last night and Dustin had a wall of pillows between Asher and the fireplace.  Guess I need to order some "baby proofing" stuff this week.  Especially since he has noticed the outlets and how to open cabinet doors recently too.

Rubber Ducky

Little Man LOVES his Rubber Ducky Tub!  Bath time is much better for Mommy now too that she does have to worry about him falling over in that dreaded bath seat.  His ducky even quacks when you squeeze his beak.  Too cute!

9 Month Stats

He's a stringbean!

Height: 29.5 inches (90% +)
Weight: 20 lbs 11 oz (50%)
Head: ? (50%)

Asher checked out fine and was quiet as usual for Dr. Austman.  I don't know what he acts so shy when we go to the Dr.  I was a little disappointed that he hadn't gained much weight since he was there at 7.5 months (19 lbs 4 oz) but he's eating good so I guess there isn't too much I can do about it.  I'm hoping he'll be tall like Papa Randy and seems like he's well on his way.  The crawling is already  wearing me down.  I can't even begin to count the number of times I've said "NoNo" in the last 2 days.  He doesn't like the pull himself up on the chaise where its nice and soft.  He likes either the coffee table or the entertainement center.  He also likes to stick his fingers in door jambs and play with electical cords.  We still aren't really eating "solid" foods we can't even eat a puff without choking.  We'll work on that this month.

Mommy & Asher!

I look like a boy in this picture and Asher's grin is a little too cheezy but you get the picture.

On the Move!

Little man is officially crawling!  Yikes!  Yay!  He took off yesterday and is a pro already.  Of course this morning he wouldn't crawl to me and Boo he takes off for the coffee table, which I like to think of as a plastic surgery nightmare waiting to happen.  I think it has to go - Dustin thinks he can bubble wrap it.  We'll see.
Right now we also like to kneel (see above) and jump in our bed.  This morning I had to put him in his crib while I got ready because I can't leave him on his blanket anymore :(  I turned the TV on and went back in there and the little shit was standing up jumpin on the side of the bed.  All fun and games now but I have a feeling we're gonna hit our mouth sometime soon.  Taylor and I also tried to get a good picture of him on Saturday in his bibs but he wasn't havin it.  Still cute.

Also, Bubby will be 9 months tomorrow!!!  He has his check-up tonight so I'll have stats to post tomorrow.
