Jump-a-roo

Mom told me she thought it was time to get Asher's Jump-a-roo out. I don't think he knew what to think. He sat in it for about 15 minutes before he started to get bored.
Even on the lowest setting his feet didn't quite touch the ground.

This is what happened when I called Dustin in to make him smile for the picture. His lip automatically comes out and he gets his pouty look.

6 years ago today....

- I just got back from boating in Peoria with Heidi & Kevin.

- I dyed Kelsey Power's hair.

- I hung out with Dustin for the first time.

- My dad took the wheels off of my car cuz I hung out with Dustin. (haha)

But six years later we're married and have the sweetest baby boy!

Things I didn't know about being a Mom...

1. I would consider shaving my legs every 2 weeks a luxury.

2. They were lying when they said breastfeeding comes naturally.

3. That I would be wearing nursing pads in my swim suit. (not a pretty picture)

4. I woud do a happy dance every time he pooped.

5. I would become a pack mule.

6. I would have to stay up until 11 every night washing bottles, doing laundry, pumping etc.

7. Then I woud have to be up at 5 every morning when he wakes up.

8. That I would be able to do my hair in less than 5 minutes (yes, that includes blow-drying!)

Love you! Asher

Pictures

After my first hard day back at work nothing made me happier than when both my boys cuddled up with me!
Isn't he soooo sweet?
Mommy is so proud! Asher is watching Rio Bravo, I think we have a future Dean Martin fan here :)

All dressed up to go to the Rehearsal dinner Friday night.

I'm sad to say I think he gets the pouty lip from me. Its cute now but in a few years it might not be so cute.

Big Weekend

Playing so nice...
Coming in for the kill...
Gottcha!
Actually Ashlyn was giving him a hug and a kiss which to her means getting him in a headlock.
We weren't even there 5 minutes before Ashlyn decided she would crawl in Asher's carseat. She looked like she was ready to go:)
This weekend Dustin's cousin John got married at the vineyard in Mackinaw and since Ryan and Milissa only lived 20 minutes away we decided to spend the night at their house and they watched Asher while we were at the wedding. The wedding was beautiful and we had a lot of fun but after a while mommy was missing her little man and had to go home. The next day Dustin and Ryan played golf while Milissa and I took the kids to Wal-Mart to get stuff to make lunch. We had a fun weekend - what I needed to take my mind off of the week ahead.

Back to Work

OK so I'm sitting here on my first day back at work and so far its going good. It was nice to catch up with the girls about what had happened over the summer. I did bawl my eyes out last night when I put him to bed and this morning when I left and the whole way to work. Of course my little man who has been sleeping through the night for the last 6 weeks woke up at 2:30 and 4:30 last night. I guess he wanted to make sure I wasn't too rested for my first day. Then I went to get him out of his crib this morning and he gave me the biggest smile and was in the best mood all morning (which made it harder).

Boo was so excited when Grandma Jane got there that he ran across Asher's stomach. It scared Asher and he started crying then I started crying all over again. I knew Boo would step on him eventually but why did it have to be today? I know he's in good hands with Grandma Jane which is why I'm probably doing so well. I think tomorrow will be the real test when he actually goes to the sitter. I took some good pictures from this weekend but forgot my camera cord so I'll have to post them later. Asher got to have his first slumber party at Ashlyn's house. I think Ashlyn wishes she had a baby brother. **hint*hint**

I forgot to post that Asher went to the Dr last monday and weighed 13 lbs 4 oz! Getting to be a big boy. We've moved into 3-6 mo clothes too :)

Changes

Well my time is running short. I only have 1 week left before I have to go back to work **sniffle*sniffle** Every time I think about it I wanna cry, but I feel fortunate to have had 12 weeks off.

Another big milestone: I left Asher with a babysitter yesterday for the first time! Grandma Jane watched him for about 3 hours while we went to Chris Tribley's couples shower. That was the first time I had left him for more than half an hour. I think I'll have a rude awakening next week when I have to leave him all day for a whole week. I think it will be harder on me than on him.

Also, we have a closing date: September 18th. So the week of the 14th we will start moving in with Mom and Dad. We moved some furniture around last night at mom and dads to make room for us. I'm sure it will get really interesting with all 7 of us living together. Mom is hoping to be in their house by Christmas but I think that she is thinking a little too optimistically.

Is this a bad thing?

Its kind of hard to see the hair hanging over his ears in this one, but trust me, its there!
Such a handsome little man!

OK so I've seriously been debating whether or not to trim Asher's hair. It hangs over his ears all the time and I'm always having to tuck it behind them. His Mohawk is now so tall that it doesn't look good anymore (on the other hand if I come it down he looks like a fat old man.) Mom said we could have Grandma Jane trim it over his ears but I thought babies were more like a year old before they got their first haircut. So opinions please... should I trim it or let it go?

Just Like Daddy

Hey Homeboy! This was the first thing I bought when I found out I was pregnant. One for a boy and one for a girl. I don't know what Dustin's obsession with Michael Jordan is but I told him Asher was only allowed to wear this hideous outfit at home. RJ was rapping with him that day - too funny.

How things have changed!

While I was looking for Boo's baby pictures I came across this one. Wow. 4 short years ago we were both skinny and had hair!

Happy Birthday BooBoo!!!

Its so hard to believe that my big boy is 4 years old already! It doesnt seem like we've had him that long. I saw him in a flea market in Tennessee (yeah you heard me right) 4 years ago and HAD to take him home with me. He weighed 1.5 pounds and was the cutest thing you've ever seen!!!
Baby BooBoo

Boo hates boating... so he only went the first year. It was always too hot for him and the inside of his ears would get a sunburn :)

Sold!

Last night we accepted an offer on our house! We don't have anything signed yet but I'm pretty sure its a go. Now we have to be thinking about packing up and moving on in with Mom and Dad. Mom thought it wouldn't be so bad until she realized that Boo will probably be sleeping with them every night! I'm excited that the house sold so fast and that we will be moving but very sad at the same time. I really do love this house and will be sad to leave it. But as Asher grows we will need the room and eventually a yard. We're going to decide on a closing date on Monday then it will be official!

Babies - Babies - Everywhere!

On Saturday we went to Ashlyn's 1st birthday party! There were 7 babies under the age of 1 year there and somehow they all managed to be very good.

Left to right Ashlyn (1 yr) Sydney (4-5 mos), Kane (4 mos), Violet (?) Elijah (3 mos), Asher (2 mos) Laine ( 9-10 mos).

That is one big cupcake and Zelma waited patiently for any scraps.

I cannot believe that our little Ashlyn is a year already!!!
