Are You My Mother?

Its a good thing that I really love my job - otherwise I'd be about ready to quit right now.

I'm hoping that its just a stage that Asher is going through, where he seems to want everyone BUT me.  I got home from work Monday night and Annie was there since Grandma Jane's back has been out.  I went and picked up him and he was hitting me and biting me and screaming and reaching for Annie.  He wanted her and nothing to do with me.  That totally sucks.

And last night when I got to Mom and Dad's after work I tried to hang out with him but he just kept chasing after my Mom screaming "Mama!" at her and clinging to her legs.  We can't get Asher to call my Mom anything but Mama and again he didn't want me - only my Mom.  And I don't get his thing with hitting and biting me lately.  He only does it to me.

I feel bad because we don't get to spend very much "fun" time together.  When I pick him up after work (and we actually go home and not stay at Mom and Dads) I have to make supper, then we eat, then he has a bath and not too long after that its bed time.  There really isn't a whole lot of time for us to play or hang out together.  Our time consists of things that we have to do - a routine.  I think that's why I don't go out on the weekends or ever let anyone babysit at night.  I totally feel guilty for being gone all week.

Dad's Birthday Party

Saturday night we celebrated Dad's 47th Birthday with a party in his newly finished garage!  Dustin was even able to get the cable ran to the TV we got him in time for the party.  Here are a few pictures from that night.

Asher thought it was a lot of fun to climb up on a lawn chair and have us count to 3 before he jumped off.  He tried to count too but only seemed to say 2 before he jumped!

They don't look too lively in this picture but they must have had some fun after I left.  I woke up at 3:20 and Dustin still wasn't home.  I had to call him and tell him it was time to walk his butt home...

Ummmm yeah.  That's my Mom playing Beer Pong.  Enough Said.

We even improvised when Sparky showed up and put a 6 on Dad's cake.  He had been complaining to Mom and Dad he needed to have a party for working at the shop for 6 years.

That's trouble.

Dustin & Kevin complaining that "Weber's make their own rules."  And of course RJ was playing with Pepsi.  But he was mysteriously the best player and knew all the rules......

Baby Brody

Saturday morning we headed down to Peoria to visit Milissa, Ryan and the new Baby Brody!  He is one sweet baby boy:)  On they way there I got this picture that said "Good Morning" sent to me :)
He's such a pretty boy - he doesn't even have that squashed through the birth canal look to him!

We got there and Milissa looked great and could get up and move and was ready to go home.  So totally different from my experience.  I wanted to stay there as long as possible and still hadn't gotten out of bed at that point - let alone had a shower.  I was jealous!

Asher didn't know what to think of his Grandma & Mommy holding a new baby.

But he sure liked having a snack with Aunt Milissa!

I cannot believe that Asher was ever this size!  Its amazing how much they change in so little time.

We had to unwrap him and check him out.

And of course wake him up so we could see his eyes :)

Awww happy family.  We missed the Little Missy because she was back in Fairbury with her Grandma & Grandpa Welborn but we've already planned a trip to Pekin to see them in a couple of weeks.

Congrats Ryan & Milissa!

I got a phone call this morning that I have a new baby cousin!  Ryan and Milissa welcomed

BRODY ALAN WELBORN

at 5:40 this morning.  He weighed 7 lbs 10 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Everyone is doing great and hopefully I'll be able to leave work a little early today and head down to Peoria to see him.  I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to follow!

Randoms

My camera died for a while so I didn't have much to post the last week or so.  I did find these random pictures on there though.
Mom and Dad's garage is coming along.  Its almost done now and we're having Dad's birthday party out there this Saturday.

And I love my Little Man in his Halloween shirt!

This one cracks me up.  This would be Dustin's idea of raking leaves.  He did this at our house in Forrest and we got a letter from the Village saying that you could not rake your leaves into the gutter.  So what does he do?  Goes out at 9:30 at night and does the same damn thing.  I don't know if he thinks doing it under the cover of darkness would save him - but I'm pretty sure everyone could hear the leaf blower going.

Asher hanging out with Papa at Ethan's birthday party last Friday night.

Things are going good.  We're still working on the paci thing but he's been something else lately.  He keeps finding things to stack next to the TV so that he can reach the buttons on the side and turn it on and off.  And he will take the tray off of the ice/water dispenser of the fridge and use it to press the button so that water goes all over the floor.  He just gives you that look and keeps doing whatever you tell him not to do.  He continues to throw his food all over whenever he eats.  I think he just likes to try my patience.

Popejoy Pumpkin Killing!

On Saturday we went to Dustin's Aunt and Uncle's in Ellsworth for the Popejoy Pumpkin Killing.  It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun for the kids this year.
The Popejoy's
Bottom Row left to right: Ray, Brenda, Abby, Sue, Beau, Charlee, Jodi and Amy
Top Row: John, Dustin, Roger, Asher, Me, Elaine, Zimmie, Kathy, Greg & Tyler
All we were missing was Jaime & Craig but we got to talk to them while we were there.
Can you believe how much these two have changed in a year!  They were just tiny babies last year at the pumpkin killing :(

Kissing Cousins

How stinkin cute are they?

Hangin out with Daddy

On Sunday we had our first nap with no paci!!!  We were going to try on Saturday but I totally forgot and gave it to him.  I figured I couldn't hand it to him and then take it away again.  He cried for about 20 minutes all the while I felt like the worst Mommy in the world then he went to sleep.  I did try to do it at bedtime but he was crying so hard I thought he was gonna puke so I gave in.  I guess we will start with nap time - maybe cold turkey won't work in this case.

Also yesterday, my perfect Little Boo was a runaway.  We got back from our Sunday morning trip to Mom and Dad's and I let him out of the car for him to go potty (like always) and he usually goes and runs right up to the door to come inside.  Well this time he went in our neighbors yard which was weird so I started walking over there.  By the time I got there he was gone.  Asher and I walked around for about 10 minutes looking for him before we called for help.  Mom and Dad drove around the block, Taylor pushed Asher in the stroller and I walked between the houses for another 15 or 20 minutes before I heard Dad honk.  I was just about to panic when I walked up and saw him sitting on Dad's lap in the truck.  Little Stinker.

AND I have a hair cut tonight.  And I'm chopping it back off.  Again.

My Little Helper

The other night I was putting the sheets on the bed and Asher thought he would help me.
I should have taken a video so you could hear him grunting while he was lifting the laundry basket - it was so funny!
I don't know why these turned out so blurry - pry cuz its so dark in my room.  Dustin finally said the other night he would have the shop put can lights in there before Christmas - Yay!
Getting ready for night-night.  I'm hoping to try and start napping this weekend without the paci -we'll see how that goes.  He is starting to ask for it at night once his pajamas are on so I think its time to start taking it away.

Our Weekend

Please note: I do not support ANYONE using the "R" word.  If you know my sister you will understand the meaning of this picture.

Friday night I ended up working late trying to get delinquent notices out at work.  I'm hoping things will slow down really soon but I've been sick the last couple of weeks so I've been gone a little bit and we've been sending out delinquent notices and dealing with a few pissed off people so its been interesting.  That night I did not feel like cooking (as usual) so we ordered fish fry from the VFW with Mom and Dad.

Asher & I finally broke down and went to the Dr on Thursday and I got some antibiotics for what Dr Austman called walking pneumonia.  I feel a little better now but still not great.  I called and talked to her today so we're going with another z-pack, an inhaler and are going to see how I feel Thursday.  I've been hacking up a lung for 3 weeks now and I'm ready for this to be over.

Saturday Asher & I ran to Gibson City with Mom and Taylor to watch Kolby's CIFL football game.  To tell you the truth I would rather stick needles in my eyes than watch any type of sports thing - even if all the little boys do look cute in their uniforms.  We ate lunch at McDonalds and Asher threw most of his food on the floor.  I'm starting to think he's just trying to kill me.  Or is this normal?  I feel like I can't take him anywhere now.

That night we went out to the farm to enjoy probably the last nice weekend we would have out there.  We grilled out and watched the kids ride the 4 wheelers.  Then we went back to Mom and Dad's when it got dark since our generator was out of commission.

Dad and Kevin Brucker had gone to the Hunnert Car Pile Up that day and brought back a couple of prizes!  Taylor got this:

Dad was SO proud of himself for buying the sister this shirt, although it only came in XXL.  For those of you who don't know my sister is going to school to be a special education teacher.  There is nothing that pisses her off more than to hear someone use the "R" word.  You can tell from her gesture what she thought of her present.

This is what Dad got Mom for the new garage:
A big girl bottle opener for her Landsharks.  And let me tell you she was THRILLED!  I think there were even a couple of F-U Dr Bruckers thrown in there. haha  Dad was pretty proud of his purchases.  For once I was glad someone didn't buy me something.  He wasn't picking on me.

I had just loaded up the diaper bag and was ready to go home about 9:00 that night when Kevin Brucker showed up with a gallon of Moonshine Lemonade from the bar in Melvin.  Needless to say Asher spent the night at Papa and Grandmas and Dustin and I walked the half a block home carrying Boo a couple of hours later.

On Sunday Dustin & I, Taylor, RJ, Grandma Jane and Heidi and Kevin all played golf.  The girls kicked butt but I think that was because we had Dean Martin playing on the golf cart :)  After dinner at Mom and Dad's yet again we called it an early night.

I had Monday off for Columbus day but Asher went to Lori's house so that the girls could take Milissa out shopping one last time before her little man arrives in a week or two.  We went to Tuscola then back to Champaign.  Here is the last picture of the girls with the belly!
I cannot wait to meet this little guy!!!

Asher's Big Day Out

Yesterday Dustin & I both took the day off of work to do something fun with Asher.  We started the morning off with Mickey Mouse pancakes at McDonald's before we headed down to Bloomington to go to Rader Family Farms for pumpkins.  It was a really neat place to take Asher because they had a lot of things for kids to do there.  Sorry, LOTS of pictures!

Of course Dustin spent a lot of the time of the phone...

Inside the little house, these were SO cute!

After the pumpkin patch we made a quick trip to Wal Mart then headed to Chuck E Cheese!

Haha

This did not go over so well.

It was a long day and he was one tired little boy when we got home but we had fun.  Maybe we can do it again next year!
