My Little Michael Jordan

Asher is LOVING his basketball hoop that Ashlyn got him for his birthday right now.  He isn't quite tall enough to make a basket yet but he is sure proud of himself and claps and cheers anyway.  Here are some pictures from the other night while him and Dustin were in the toy room playing.

Love this face!

When did he become such a big boy?

ByeBye Binky!

I think its safe to say that Asher is officially done with his binky!!!  Yay for him and for me!  I wanted it to be gone before he turned 18 months and it was surprisingly easy.  He was starting to ask for it at night so I figured it was time for the binky to go byebye before he became too attached.  We started taking it away at nap time a couple of weeks ago and then at bedtime this past week.  He always takes it out in the morning and gives it to me to put on the counter until bedtime.  He knows its there so when he wants it he would go up to the counter and hang on it.  Well about last Wednesday I hid the paci in the cookie jar so that when he cried for it I picked up and showed him that the paci was "all gone."

It was so cute he looked at me and said "All gone?"  I told him that we had to give all of our paci's to Baby Brody so he needed to be a big boy now.  He went to bed without a peep and we haven't had an issue since.  Mommy is SO proud of her big boy!

Shopping Trip

We had a marathon shopping day yesterday since I had the day off for Veteran's Day.  We left town at 8:30 and got home a little after 8:00 last night.  I think we were all wore out by the time we got home.  We met Milissa and Brody in Peoria to spend the day shopping with them.  I think after 3 weeks of being home Milissa was ready for a day out with the girls.
Asher rode down with his "Old Ladies."  He hardly lets Annie get in the car before he starts digging in her purse because he knows she has fruit snacks in there.

Brody was a perfect little peanut while we were shopping.

And after trying to pull everything off of the racks Asher finally just zoned out and eventually fell asleep.

He loved giving the baby kisses too!

Oh My

Last night I took Asher for his first "real" haircut.  Wow, this was not the reaction I was expecting.  I thought he would wonder what was going on at first but the kid screamed the ENTIRE time!  There were tears, rivers of snot and drool running all over the place.  I felt bad for both him and Teri but he sure looked cute when he was done.  I think Taylor might have regretted going but I needed her there to wipe the snot off of his face and take pictures for me since I needed to pin him in the chair.

Giving Teri that "Don't you dare touch me again" look.

So Handsome!

Visiting Brody

I had a very uneventful weekend.  We stayed home Friday night and then Dustin worked all day Saturday and was gone Saturday night so Asher and I did a lot of cleaning and playing.  Although I find its really hard to clean with him around.  Its more like clean a toilet... play for 15 minutes.  Clean another toilet.... have a snack.  Clean another toilet then Moo like a cow and Baa like a sheep.  Things that would normally take no time at all take me all day now.  I save nap time for the really fun jobs like cleaning my fridge - now that was fun.

We did get up and out early Sunday morning to go down to Pekin to see Baby Brody and Miss Ashlyn though.  Here are a few pictures from Sunday.
I was so impressed that Asher was actually sitting and watching a movie that we bought him his own Elmo movie on the way home.  I don't know yet if it was Elmo he loved or if he just wanted to be like his cousin Ashlyn :)

Sweet Baby Boys

I even took my sister the "baby hog" since she won't be able to go see them again this Thursday with us.

Asher did not want to sit still for a picture of the three of them but you can tell Ashlyn is enjoying being a big sister!

Oh wait - Nikki comes back from maternity leave on Monday.  Whew!  Thank God because my desk is starting to close in on me...

Our New Addition

No, I'm not pregnant - we didn't even get a new pet.  But considering the excitement Dustin has displayed over this "new addition" at our house we might as well have been adding to our family.  When he working on his argument he was basically telling me it was all he ever wanted and his life wouldn't be complete without it.
Introducing the 82" Black Hole in our basement:

Uncle Beau came over to help set it up and Asher thought he would get right in the middle and help too!

This new TV is even 3D compatible - won't we look cool in our glasses?

Once it was finally set up Asher enjoyed sitting back and watching TV until he fell asleep.  Dustin was so in love he even slept downstairs last night.

Halloween 2010

This year was Asher's first "official" Halloween since last year we didn't actually Trick or Treat.  He didn't have the melt down I was expecting in his costume but it did take us over an hour to go to the first two houses.  After that I told Dustin we needed to step it up or we would be out way past our bedtime.  But it went good and I think Asher had fun.  Here are a couple of pictures of my Little Handy Manny :)

Are You My Mother?

Its a good thing that I really love my job - otherwise I'd be about ready to quit right now.

I'm hoping that its just a stage that Asher is going through, where he seems to want everyone BUT me.  I got home from work Monday night and Annie was there since Grandma Jane's back has been out.  I went and picked up him and he was hitting me and biting me and screaming and reaching for Annie.  He wanted her and nothing to do with me.  That totally sucks.

And last night when I got to Mom and Dad's after work I tried to hang out with him but he just kept chasing after my Mom screaming "Mama!" at her and clinging to her legs.  We can't get Asher to call my Mom anything but Mama and again he didn't want me - only my Mom.  And I don't get his thing with hitting and biting me lately.  He only does it to me.

I feel bad because we don't get to spend very much "fun" time together.  When I pick him up after work (and we actually go home and not stay at Mom and Dads) I have to make supper, then we eat, then he has a bath and not too long after that its bed time.  There really isn't a whole lot of time for us to play or hang out together.  Our time consists of things that we have to do - a routine.  I think that's why I don't go out on the weekends or ever let anyone babysit at night.  I totally feel guilty for being gone all week.

Dad's Birthday Party

Saturday night we celebrated Dad's 47th Birthday with a party in his newly finished garage!  Dustin was even able to get the cable ran to the TV we got him in time for the party.  Here are a few pictures from that night.

Asher thought it was a lot of fun to climb up on a lawn chair and have us count to 3 before he jumped off.  He tried to count too but only seemed to say 2 before he jumped!

They don't look too lively in this picture but they must have had some fun after I left.  I woke up at 3:20 and Dustin still wasn't home.  I had to call him and tell him it was time to walk his butt home...

Ummmm yeah.  That's my Mom playing Beer Pong.  Enough Said.

We even improvised when Sparky showed up and put a 6 on Dad's cake.  He had been complaining to Mom and Dad he needed to have a party for working at the shop for 6 years.

That's trouble.

Dustin & Kevin complaining that "Weber's make their own rules."  And of course RJ was playing with Pepsi.  But he was mysteriously the best player and knew all the rules......
