The Hangover

Last night we ate pizza at Mom and Dad's then headed up to Gig's for Taylors Birthday.  I thought I'd start you out with a picture I snapped of Taylor this morning in all her glory:
Good Morning Sunshine!
We got uptown and she was ready to party

The girls had shots courtesy of my Mother-in-Law Sue

This is where it starts to get sloppy, enjoy.

Always remember to walk home, its the smart thing to do!  Can't wait to go to Vegas tomorrow.  Not looking forward to leaving my boys.

Happy Birthday Sister

Today The Sister turns 21.

Kind of hard to believe.  In 2 days our "Motley Crue" will be boarding a plane for Las Vegas, I belive there are 13 women ranging from 21 to 71 going on this trip.  Wow, this should be interesting!  The Sister has a practice round tonight in Fairbury, I'll have to take it easy because I have to work tomorrow.

Sister and I were not close when we were little.  I don't think we even liked each other.  I'm not sure when that changed but I think it was about the time that she got out of High School.  Once you turn 18 a 4 year age difference doesn't seem like much.  Since then we've been super-close.  And even closer since she's been dating Josh.  Don't worry Sister, I think you'll have all the time in the world to thank me for hooking you guys up :)

And ever since Asher came along she's been my right hand.  She loves that kid like no other and was at my house bright and early every day for the 3 months I was on maternity leave.  What a lifesaver, otherwise I'm not sure I would have showered most days.  Not only that, only a Sister would do the things she had to do for me.  After my c-section she had to help me with things I didn't think I'd need help with until I was in a nursing home - thank you for that, I'll buy you a drink tonight... and hold your hair while you puke.

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day this year.  We had Brody's Baptism Sunday morning and he was a perfect little peanut the whole time!  I forgot my camera but I'm sure Milissa will post some pictures.  Afterward we had brunch at Mom and Dad's.  It turned out to be a beautiful day and the kids got to play outside.  Asher got to "ride" all day.
Would you just look at this boy?
We had another reason to celebrate on Sunday!!!  My cousin Adelaide Addie got engaged to Wes last week!  After waiting for weeks for the ring to get done and all of us knowing that he bought the house that she really wanted he finally popped the question.  We are all excited for their October 2012 wedding but sad that we missed Wes this weekend.  I guess he did need to see his Mom on Mother's Day :)
Look at that rock!  She got an oval, she has good taste like me :)
Ashlyn loves Mom's cat Lucy.  Here she is asking "Woosy" if she likes her shirt.  Woosy was not impressed.

The kids got to go on lots of golf cart rides because that was the easiest way to keep them occupied

Grandma Jane brought the kids colored bubbles which were really cool until the kids spilled them all over themselves.
I got to spend some time feeding and playing with this little guy

While my little guy played with his cousins
And of course Josh was there.  Can you tell by the mocking smile on his face that he loves to terrorize me?  He's lucky I like him so much or I'd have to kick his butt for the way he picks on me.  He says he does it because my husband doesn't.

He doesn't because he knows whats good for him!

I hope you had a Happy Mother's Day.
As you can tell, Asher was thrilled to stop and spend a minute with his Mommy :)

Saturday Night

If you would have told me 10 years ago, at the ripe old age of 15, that my future Saturday night would consist of hanging out in the toy room at home (my parents home) with my Brother and Sister-in-Law and our 2 year olds I would have never believed you.  I especially wouldn't have believed that Beau Ryan would be my Brother-in-Law, how weird.  Or that I would LOVE hanging out with the Sister because at 11 she was still in that awkward stage...

But that's just what we did Saturday night and we had fun.  We sat in the toy room and played with the kids and told stories - I love these people.
We grilled out and Josh brought his RC car and reminded me that although we are only a couple of months apart in age I am leaps and bounds ahead of him in maturity.
After dinner the kids ran wild
And so did the parents!

Here is Aunt Heidi teaching Asher a new trick, how to lick a bottle cap and stick it to your forehead.  What a good influence she is!

We have a theme!

Asher's Birthday party is one month from today.  Whew, I haven't really started planning but we have decided on a theme!  And it is:

Vintage Firetruck

Our photographer Laura Kruger actually got me thinking about this as a theme a long time ago.  She saw a picture of my Dad's fire truck on the blog and said that would make a great family photo.  Well we tried to get it done this spring but it just didn't work out but I realized that Dad had this little Fire Truck peddle car at the body shop and it was perfect to get his picture taken with!  So we are having a "vintage" fire truck themed birthday party and Dad is going to bring his fire truck to the party and give rides to the kiddos!!!  (Did you hear that Dad?  Good!)

Hopefully I'll get everything accomplished in the next month, May is a VERY busy month for us.  Not only is it Mother's day but I have a very special mini-vacay planned in case you have forgotten for the Sister's Birthday!!!  I cannot wait.  Although I am a little nervous because Dustin has never had Asher for more than a couple of hours.  I overheard him telling Asher the other night they were going to stay up late, eat popcorn and drink before bed.  I guess everything I tell them they can't do.  Please pray for my sanity while I'm gone.

I wanna Ride!

Asher's newest thing is to bug the crap out of you that he wants to RIDE.  This is mainly when we're at Mom and Dad's and Uncle RJ is there to take him for a ride on whatever is handy: golf cart, lawnmower, 4-wheeler or bush hog.  On Saturday afternoon RJ stopped by our house and happened to have his 4-wheeler in the back of his truck.  He came in the house and said that Asher wouldn't leave him alone about a ride.  I told him that he was teasing the poor kid and at least let him sit on it and start it up.  Asher was in heaven - especially when RJ showed him where the throttle was!

Lawrence Easter

Saturday night we had Easter with the Lawrence side.  It was another chance for the kiddos to get together and play.  It saved us a lot of headaches that Mark and Leann had matching Little Tykes cars so we didn't have a couple of fighting toddlers on our hands.  Although Asher would rather push Charlee in hers and she would rather him not!

Thanks to Aunt Jodi Mommy got a rare picture with her little man!  See those fingers in his mouth?  We had his 2 year pictures the next day with Laura Kruger and he wouldn't stop doing that!  Ugh, but I think she got some good ones.  I'll post the link when she has the proofs up - Can't wait!

Watch this: The best part?  I didn't even tell him to do this!

My Sweet Boy!

He loves Chard-tee!
