Early Birthday Present

Dustin & I had been talking for a while about what we were going to get Asher for his birthday this year.  After some discussion we decided he would really like a swing set.  Since his birthday isn't until the beginning of June, and we really wanted it to be all set up before his birthday party - we went ahead and put it up this past weekend.  Dustin said he will NEVER do it again - but its up and Asher loves it and that's all that matters!

Finishing Touches

I swear he loves it!

A special thank you to Taylor and RJ who came and helped in the morning and Dustin's Dad who came in the afternoon!

My Little Clown

It's no wonder Asher likes going to his sitter Lori's house so much, she lets him "Clown Around" - Literally!

Playing Catch-Up

Since I didn't update for a month I'm not going to even try to post all of my pictures in different posts.  So instead, here is one "catch-up" post with all of my pictures!
Asher kept saying potty so I went in the spare bedroom where his potty was waiting until I thought it was time to get it out.  I was impressed that he was telling me he had to go.
He sat on it for half an hour that day so we finally moved it into the living room because Mommy was bored.  It was a couple of days later that I figured out that he calls the vacuum potty also and they are in the same closet...
In March Mom & Dad had a garage party and Asher had fun being the center of attention.  He climbed up and sat with the big boys.  He even had to have a huggie on his bottle of water.

Dad got to show off the new bar he made.  We're still try to figure out if its a sin to cut up a pulpit and make a bar out of it...
We also had Kane's 2nd Birthday Party!
And Wow, the Righter family is growing :)
My Bubby is so handsome!
We also celebrated Dustin's Mom's birthday which is the same day as Kane's

Visit with Ashlyn & Brody

Again, I'm a little behind on the blog - BUT I got my blog book in the mail on Saturday and it gave me the inspiration I need to keep going.  This book is AWESOME.  No need for scrap booking when you have a blog.  There is a website where you put in your blog address, a date range (I did 2009) and they printed me out a nice hardcover color book of every single post I did with all of the pictures.  Its beautiful!

But anyway, back to our last weekend.  Milissa's husband Ryan was going to be gone so Asher & me, Mom, Taylor, Grandma Jane and Annie headed to Pekin to go spend the night with Milissa and the kids.  We met up in Peoria and did some shopping.  Of course most of our shopping was done with visions of slot machines dancing in our heads because in 32 days the ladies are going to VEGAS for the Sister's 21st BiRtHdAy!!!  Taylor turns 21 on May 11th and we are leaving on the 13th for a long weekend with 13 women in Vegas.  Wow, that will be quite a post.  We all needed some new clothes to take with us so we went shopping and had lunch.  Then had dinner back at Mili's and the kids got to play.
Asher & Ashlyn had fun playing together.  Most of the time they even played nice!
And I'm so glad Asher isn't to the point yet where he wants to pick out his own PJ's.

In the morning Auntie Taylor gave them a bath after they played outside with the Nannies.
They thought this was great fun!
Then Taylor, Mom and I took the kids out to lunch so that Milissa could have a chance to get ready for her purse party that afternoon.  Wow.  Can't imagine having kids close together!

Big Boy Bed

On Sunday Asher decided to climb out of his crib.  This comes only one day after he figured out he could wiggle his way between the railing and bypass the gate at the top of the stairs.  So as I was still getting used to the fact that I can now walk up and down my stairs a free woman I found out that I now needed to convert Asher's crib to a toddler day bed before he fell out and broke his arm.

Auntie Taylor came and picked him up after dinner on Monday night so that Dustin and I had a chance to get his crib switched over and his room re-arranged a little bit.
I'm not sure what he thought when he got home but I think he was excited!
Whats going on here?!?!
Of course I was worried about him getting up in the middle of the night and getting into something he shouldn't so I had Dustin move the camera in his room into an upper corner.  We had to keep going back into our room to test out its new position!
We hung out in his room for a while so he could get used to his new bed
At first he was SO excited to climb in bed.  Then we did our little bed-time routine and I told him night-night.  We set the sleep timer on his TV and walked out of his room shutting the door.
Melt. Down.
He cried at his door for about 5 minutes.  Dustin and I were glued to the TV in our room watching him and I felt so bad.  Then he climbed in his bed and put his arms behind his Head, watched the Bulls and fell asleep about 10 minutes later!  We've had 3 successful nights with NO issues!!!  I'm so proud of my big boy :)

A Boy & His Boots

Bug Boots

If you have seen my little man lately (you haven't seen him on here thats for sure!) you may have noticed that he will only wear boots now.  It doesn't really matter what kind of boots - he loves them all!

Fire Boots

I can't wait to see him this summer because I'm sure he'll be wearing them with his shorts.  But thats alright, whatever makes him happy!

Asher's latest pair?  These cowboy boots that Mom bought him on Saturday.  He looks so cute!
Cowboy Boots

He's wearing these bad boys today.

Shit Kickers
And I love these little guys.  I got these at Walmart months ago and have been waiting for him to grow into them.

On Sunday morning Asher refused to wear clothes.  He just wanted to wear his boots.

He wanted Mommy to wear her boots too!

I get this look a lot.

I'm Alive

Yeah I know, its been a while.  I just haven't had much to say or many pictures lately.  Not too much has been happening around our house lately.  Asher hasn't been feeling the best which makes for a very cranky boy.  I took him to the Dr yesterday thinking he had another ear infection - but for once he didn't.  She said it was probably just his teeth and he's starting to get a cold too.  Mr Independent has now decided that I cannot carry him anywhere.  He insists on walking out to the car and into either Mom's or Lori's every morning.  Which I'm fine with, it just takes twice as long.

Besides being Mr Independent he is Mr Helpful.  He likes to take our empty glasses and put them in the sink.  Although sometimes he can't see where the sink is and misses and whatever is left in the bottom of the glass is spilled on the counter.  Oh, well.  He also likes to stack toys and stand on them to turn off the lights.  What a helpful little boy!  But in the middle of the night Friday night I woke up FREEZING.  I woke Dustin up to tell him to go check it out.  He came back and said that it was 60 degrees in our house because someone had turned our heat off.  I wonder if a certain little boy couldn't keep his hands off of the thermostat.  His other favorite things to do right now are laundry and putting money in his piggy bank.  I don't think he gets the laundry thing from me but he does get the money thing from his mother.  Last night Mom was over and there was some change sitting on the table and Asher was screaming "Money!"  She had to laugh because most of his words are hard to understand at the least but that one comes out clear as can be ;)

Bad Influences

  • Beer
  • Kitty (AKA Titty)
  • Boob
  • Sh*t
These are the words that my family encourages my young impressionable son to say.  And recently?  My Dad is trying to teach Asher to say "Kitties and Beer" which Asher-translates to the Rodney Carrington song "Titties and Beer" which would be hilarious to hear him say but hard to explain to the babysitter.  And this past Saturday there were no Saturday morning cartoons at our house - there was a Saturday morning Brewing lesson with Auntie Taylor.  She got Dustin an at-home brewing kit and she has had to do it all for him because evidently she is the only one that can read directions.

Playing With Daddy

I finally had a chance to get some pictures off of my camera and found these pics of Dustin and Asher playing in the snow.  Asher would rather stand in one place holding a snow ball than ride in the sled!
Ummm I'm not so sure about this
Better get those gloves on good
So I can hold on for dear life!
Please stop!
I've had enough
Hey, Where did you go?
Oh, there you are...
Slow down Dad, I can't walk in these boots.
Or drag me, thats OK too.
Auntie Taylor!  Wanna have a snowball fight?
Let me show you how this is done.
